Tip of the week: the return of backpacks!
The backpack is the most convenient and safe to carry school supplies. However, a backpack too heavy or worn incorrectly can cause back pain or shoulder or deformity of the spine. Here are some tips to prevent your child suffers: Ensure that your child does not fulfill his backpack too. The latter should never weigh more than 10% of the weight of the wearer. Buy a pack of good quality with wide shoulder straps and padded and the straps that attach to the waist and sternum. Make sure your child always use both shoulder straps when carrying their backpack. Check often as the straps and belts are properly adjusted. Teach your child how to properly distribute the items in his bag so that it weighs no more than one side than the other. Ideally, the heaviest items should be placed at the bottom. Welcome back! (Excerpt from the magazine Yoopa, août 2010)

The trick of the week: Introduce new foods in small nozzles for 2 to 5 years. More
child is initiated early in a wide variety of foods, the more likely it is that appreciate them. A few golden rules: Always introduce a new food in small portion, with more familiar foods. Offer new foods regularly and invite the child to taste a bite. Leading by example and taste too! Up to 15 exposures of the same food may be necessary before the child finds attractive ... Involve children in the preparation because they are more inclined to eat what they have themselves prepared and served to others. Vary the colors and textures, forms and presentations. Do not worry if the child does not eat perfectly balanced occasionally. If the child has not eaten after 20 minutes and we serve the other members of the family, it simply removes the plate while remaining neutral, tomorrow is another meal ... Courage! About 80% of children 5 years that are considered difficult children during meals and that figure down to 23% at the age of 7 years.
